book. he is the founder of London’s centre of Freudian analysis and research. New book argues that psychoanalysis has a place, because physical symptoms may have a mental basis. is scathing about cognitive behavioural therapy says it is only correcting surface of symptoms and re-integrating people.
he says, cognitive behavioural therapy was used in Mao’s China for the education process so that people would see the world in the way the authorities wanted
Darian uses Lacanian practice - great emphasis is placed on importance of language. He says it is not a quick fix.
He pointed out that Galen, a Greek doctor practising in the Roman Empire observed that depressed women were more prone to cancer than cheerful ones.
